Shelby Colson, FNP-C, provides outstanding health care to women from adolescence through post-menopause at The Howard Center for Women’s Health, which has 12 offices across Georgia, including Covington, Valdosta, Moultrie, Warner Robins, Albany/Leesburg, Douglas, Lawrenceville, Athens, Waycross, Decatur, Tifton, and McDonough. With a focus on compassionate and attentive patient care, Shelby ensures that each woman feels heard, respected, and supported throughout her health journey.
Shelby’s background in nursing helps her maintain a calm and reassuring presence, making her a reliable provider for patients with various health needs, including endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and abnormal bleeding. She is committed to patient-centered care, keeping everyone well-informed about their health and treatment options.
Shelby earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. Her education and experience have equipped her with skills in diagnostic interpretation, intravenous (IV) therapy, phlebotomy, and patient management.
Along with her advanced education, Shelby is chemotherapy and biotherapy certified and holds an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association. She has been honored with the Spirit of Job Nursing Award and is an active member of the National Student Nurses Association.
Shelby’s expertise in complex wound care, geriatric treatment, and pain management allows her to effectively address a wide range of women’s health issues, including menopause.
Shelby truly values her patients’ health and well-being, striving to provide the highest quality of care and support. She is currently accepting new patients at The Howard Center for Women’s Health.
